Step 1: Customizing your Learndot

Last Updated: Oct 25, 2016 09:21PM UTC

First things first: Let's make your Academy on Learndot feel like your Learndot.

After first signing up, you'll be brought to the customize screen. To get back to it, click 'Settings' on the left:

a) Upload your Logo

Click the circle beside the name of for your academy that you chose on sign up. By default, it will have the Learndot logo.

We recommend a 250x250 png, but any square or circle logo will work. We will resize it for you.

b) Upload your Cover Photo

Your cover photo is the large background image at the top used throughout your Learndot in both the learner and admin experiences. It is a great way to set the tone of your Learndot with your colors and brand. To upload your own Cover Photo, click the mountain image icon to the right of the academy name:

and then click "Upload Custom Cover."

Select your image file and be patient. You should be using a large image – at least 1280x1280 – so the file is probably large and can take awhile to to upload. Once the file is finished uploading, the background at the top will change to your newly uploaded cover. If it looks good, click 'Done.'

c) Write your Welcome Message

The final step is to write a Welcome Message. This is the content that learners will first see at the top of the learner experience when logging in. You can use it any way you like – to welcome generally, explain the content, link to additional resources. Anything you can create in the content editor (see this article for more information) can go here – videos, images, links, text, and more.

d) Save your Customizations

After uploading your logo and cover photo and authoring your welcome message click 'Update Customizations' at the bottom of the screen – or else your changes won't be saved!

After saving, you'll have completed step 1 – congratz! Next step is to create a course.
